Rules for uploading files to ISKCON desire tree:

File name - Leave no space in the file name. Use underscore _ to separate the words in the file name. Use the same file name pattern as others already loaded on the particular webpage. Please do not use # & , / * ? in the file name.

File size - Your file size allocated for uploading is as mentioned above. Keep your file size as small as possible by compressing adequately and at the same time maintaining adequate quality. In case there is an interruption while uploading the files than its is possible that the file will not get loaded. In such cases, you will have to upload the file again. The file transfer does not support resume function. Hence, in case you have large files and they have difficulty getting uploaded due to your slow internet speed, than split the files into parts and than upload.

For Audio - only .mp3 files can be uploaded: Please compress your file to as small size as possible, without distorting the sound quality. Generally for lectures, 24 to 56 kbps may be sufficient and for music, upto 96 kbps should be sufficient. This will ensure a fast upload and also ensure that devotee will be able to download it faster. Please rename the file to include - speaker, title, date, venue, etc. This will help us post the file under the right heading.

For Photos - only .jpg and .psd files can be uploaded

For Videos - only .flv and .wmv can be uploaded Please follow the instructions in a similar way as explained in audio with regards to the name and file size. Please compress as much possible without distorting the video. This will give you a smaller file size and will thus make your uploading easier. It will also make easy for devotees to view the video uninterruptedly, without much of buffering issues. Please compress the video to frame size of 320 X 280 and frame rates at 25 fps. For this you will need a flash encoder. One common encoder is Riva encoder

For documents - only .pdf can be uploaded

Once you have uploaded, ensure that your file is listed on the website properly by visiting/ refreshing the webpage where it was uploaded. Don't forget - inform us!
You will not be able to delete the media that you have uploaded. We reserve full rights to delete media that is not conducive to Krishna consciousness.
